What’s Press On Nails?

Press on nails is artificial nails made to stick on your real nails to decorate your nails. Much better than you remember! They come in tons of different lengths, colors, and designs.

So you can get perfectly manicured nails in minutes in the comfort of your home with on-trend styles. Ready-to-wear gel nails can make you explore more different nail personalities.

Are Press on Nails Safe?

I’m not going to lie, when I first learned about press-on nails, I kept asking people who had used them, were they really safe?

Luckily, my good friends and neighbors all agreed that press-on direct is one of the safest nail extension options.

Whether it’s acrylic nails or gel nails, to remove them, you have to soak them in a tub full of acetone for 15 minutes! And in contrast to acrylic nails, press-on nails don’t need excessive polishing and soaking.

Press On Nails vs. Gel, Which Is Better?

I’m not going to take sides; they each have pros and cons, but press-on nails are better for me.

Let me tell you why.

Benefit 1: Press On Nails Do Not Harm Our Natural Nails

They are a healthier alternative to acrylic nails. It’s much better for your nail bed. They are super easy to remove without causing any nail damage.

Benefit 2: Press On Nails Are Convenient And Affordable

They are super easy to apply. Only in 10 minutes you can get salon-like nails. My favorite thing about press on nails is the wide variety of designs I can choose from and change nail style more often.

I don’t need to spend a longer time at nail salons. I can easily match my nails to my daily outfit.

Glue on nails normally costs about $9.99-$19.99. However, the price can vary depending on the lengths and styles of the nails. They are more affordable than salon nails.

Trust me, it can’t cost 9.99 to do a manicure at salons.

Benefit 3: Press On Nails Can Be Reuse Again And Again

Even though press on nails can last weeks with proper care, better yet, they can be reused again and again if you use apply press on nails with adhesive tabs.

How Long Do Press On Nails Last?

This question is often asked by people buying it for the first time. It largely depends on the quality of the nail you purchase and how you wear it. A good press-on nail can last up to 2 weeks.

But don’t let this rigid rule bind you. From 3 days to 2 weeks, you decide!.

- If for an event or date, you can apply the glue on nails with adhesive tabs for 3 days.

- If for working days, you can choose the super-hold nail glue for 7 days.

- If for travel, you can apply the adhesive tabs and glue for 2 weeks.

Why BTArtbox Press On Nails Are The Best?

Material - Soft Gel Extension

Most press-on nails on the market are made of acrylic nail tips. But all the New Professional-Grade BTArtbox press on nails are made of soft gel extensions.

It’s a kind of new material that is lightweight but solid enough to bend without cracking and trace. Not only that, for better effect, the upper of the nail tip is softer than other nails. The middle and the bottom of the nails are more solid.

Technology - Creative 4-layer Structure

Compared with the past printing technology, BTArtbox restores the whole process of salon nail production. So the press on nails is more shiny and natural. They look as real as salon nails.

How To Apply Press On Nails?

You might not believe it, but just 10 minutes can make your fingers look like they just applied a gel polish. Here's a video detailing the press on nails application process.

Let’s continue...

Step 1: Wash Hand And Dry Completely

Starting by washing your hands, soak your nails in the warm water for about 5 minutes. It helps soften your cuticles, making them easier to push back in the follow-up step. And don’t forget to make your nails dry completely with a clean cotton pad.

Step 2: Choose the best fitting nail for each nail and set them aside in order

Size up your real nails to ensure that the width of fake nails matches from sidewall to sidewall. Every artificial nail actually has a small number at the bottom.

I really recommend that you take note of all of the right measurements. So you don’t have to re-evaluate your sizing. After you have finished measuring each nail for each finger, you can have them all listed in order on the table.

You’ll have lots of leftovers that you can use for a full set another time. So that’s great you can get 2 sets of nails out of each box. Obviously, the next time you use them, the nails are going to be either slighter smaller or slighter larger, but you can still file them and wear them for over 2 weeks.

Step 3: Trim And Shape Your Nails

If necessary, clip your nails then gently file them into shape. A slightly rounded nail shape or square-rounded edge is generally the best way to go, but you can be as creative as you like.

Step 4: Push Back Cuticles And Remove The Excess Skin

It’s really critical to push your cuticles back and gently scrape off the dead skin that’s on the nail, which is the key to making your press-ons last a long time and look real.

Step 5: Buff The Surface Of Your Natural Nails

Buff the surface of your real nails gently. It will create a slightly rough surface to help the glue adhere better.

Step 6: Use Alcohol Pad To Get Rid Of All The Dust

Trust me, it’s a really important part. Applying rubbing alcohol to the nail’s surface will remove all the oils and dust and ready them to glue the ready-to-wear nails.

After that, do not touch your nails again.

Step 7: Apply The Fake Nails

Apply the adhesive tabs to your entire natural nail and apply a little layer of glue to the back of your Fake Nails. Slightly place the false nail under your cuticle for a seamless, natural look, and press down firmly for 90 seconds using your thumb.

Ensure your entire nail is covered and receiving pressure. Take care that the cuticle is the first point of application, not the middle of the nail! If there are any air pockets, press out before moving on.

If needed, use more nail glue and pressure to avoid air pockets.

Step 8: Shape Your Nails

If desired or needed, touch up and reshape your manicure to your liking using the file or a nail clipper.

Tip: BTArrbox Nails can be filed from any side, including the cuticle area, if you want to shorten the length of the nails without losing the tip design.

5 Ways to Make Your Pressed Nails Last Longer

Actually, removing and applying press-on nails frequently can be harmful to your nails, most people want them to last longer.

It takes some application skills, and as a veteran press-on nail enthusiast, I’ll share these 5 rules of thumb:

1. Do Not Water Your Nails Immediately

It’s recommended to wear stick-on nails before going to bed at night, or do not touch the water for 1 hour after wearing it.

2. Do Not Use Lotions Or Oils Before Applying

Be sure your nails are fully dry, clean, and oil-free before applying.

3. Do Not Forget The Prep

Take care to gently push your cuticle back. When you push back your cuticles, it will allow you to place the nail closer to the root of the bed.

4. Do Not Forget To Press The Nails About 90s

Apply the fake nail at a 45-degree angle to the base of the nail and press it until reaching the free edge. Take care to press it more about 90 seconds to strong blend it. And take care to apply enough glue to avoid air pockets.

5. Don’t file your natural nail down

You need to leave a little bit of that white nail because the more that you’re able to leave your real nail around the same length as the artificial nail the less likely it will pop off when you’re going about your day picking your things up.

Ladies, you know you are always using nails. Sometimes the men in your life ask you to do something small because they don’t have nails.

So having your real nail essentially be a base to reinforce the press on nails almost merges them into one. It is a stronger tip. Normally shorter press-on nails last longer compared to longer ones.

How To Remove Press On Nails

If you are wondering how to remove press-on nails much easier, we got you covered! Please check below 2 ways.

1. Soak Your Fingers In Warm Water

Get Ready For A Small Basin Of Warm Water

All you need is a small basin of hot water. Not too hot, just hot enough to where you can tolerate it, and add a few squirts of body wash.

Soak Your Nails

Once your water is ready, soak your fingers in the solution, and untie the fake nails that pop off nicely. If it’s a three-week-old set. It’s going to take not long as a brand new set.

Don’t worry if the fake nail isn’t completely popped off, gently pry the fake nails with the wooden stick included in the press on nails box or apply some cuticle oil.

Pick Off The Leftover On The Nails

Use a wooden stick to carefully pick off any residue left on the backs of the nails, and they’re ready to be re-worn again.

2. Apply Nail Polish Removers

Put Some Nail Polish Removers In The Cotton Pad

You can apply some of the nail polish removers to your nails with a cotton pad first and try to get the nail polish removers under the false nail to help loosen the adhesive.

Pry Off Nails As Fake Nails Start To Loosen

As the nail polish remover starts to work, you can notice that the fake nails are loosening up. Start prying off the nails with a wooden stick as they loosen up.

Clean All The Acetone Leftover And Moisturize Your Hands

Wash hands to prevent any acetone leftover. Apply some hand cream to replenish lost moisture as necessary.

Apply a Layer Of Nail Strengthener

It’s likely that after all that acetone, your nails require a layer of nail strengthener to keep nails healthy. Normally it can strengthen nails to their original resiliency in just a few days.
